Indianapolis Race
Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 50 (1-50)

Green flag. Harvick is on the outside lane, just before Turn 1. Clint Bowyer pushes Joey Logano and Logano moves up to 2nd.

Lap 12, Daniel Suarez, is at the wall just after turn 2. He was unable to find a corner exit and suffered moderate damage. The warning is out.

Pit stops

The field moves to the pit lane. Chase Elliott is spinning on the pit lanes. Harvick is first in, first out.

Green, Harvick and Keselowski race even to turn one. Harvick drags Keselowski to the grass, while he drafts him down his back. Harvick pulls back into the lead in turn three.

Martin Truex Jr. is heading for the pit lane. Crew members repair damage sustained in the first pit stop.

With 10 seconds remaining in stage 1, Kevin Harvick leads Keselowski 6 seconds.

Landon Cassill, Lap 42 is pushing hard against the wall. He suffered a mechanical issue and the car wouldn’t turn off the corner. The caution is out.

Pit stops

The pit lane is where most of the field returns. Jimmie Johnson wins with two tires. Larson comes in 2nd place with four tires and Harvick is third. Logano and Newman remain out.

Green and Logano lead at the bottom. Harvick grabs Johnson three wide to take 3rd. Larson moves up to 2nd.

Keselowski and Jones fight for space in the corner. Jones chases the bank into Keselowski and Jones is free. Jones crashes into the wall. Keselowski hits the tire barrier inside and the car rests on top.

Joey Logano is the winner of the stage one race under caution

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 50 (51-100)

As track officials fix damage to the interior wall, the red flag is raised. Logano, Newman and Johnson then head to the pit lane. Harvick and Larson led them to the restart.

Larson is ahead of Harvick at the line, green flag. Blaney pushes Harvick onto the bottom into turn one. Harvick pushes Blaney to the bottom and into turn one. Larson crosses under him. Harvick leads from the outside until turn 3.

Denny Hamlin, 5th place at Lap 70. After being forced to start at the tail of field, Denny Hamlin was forced to backup after a crash during practice.

Alex Bowman, race leader at Lap 78 has climbed to the bumper. Bowman has a look but can’t get to his inside. Larson is catching them both.

Lap 79: Hamlin takes a loose wheel and heads to the pit lanes under green.

Lap 82 Larson is working around Bowman and moving to 2nd. He lifts down the backstretch, he’s trying to get a run on the leader.

Pit stops

Lap 85, lap traffic is ahead of the leader. Larson is still on his bumper. Harvick moves to the pit lane.

Lap 86, Larson Blaney, Kyle Busch pit.

Kyle Busch is on fire, Lap 88. No warning, he gets to the apron. Lap 89, Busch comes to a stop on the pit lane as the smoke it too much and he can’t see.

It is time to be cautious. Jimmie Johnson was the leader, Harvick is 7.

The rest of the field moves to the pit lane. Bowman is the first to go with two tires. Johnson is 2nd with four tires

Larson leads Green, Harvick out of turn 1.

Stage 2: 4 left.

Also, be careful. Kevin Harvick should win the stage.

Indianapolis Race
Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 60 (101-160)

The leaders keep their distance. Bowyer is the fifth car to be pitted.

Green flag at stage three. Harvick, Larson even make it to turn one. Harvick is ahead of them, but they bang on the fenders lightly.

Jimmie Johnson is behind them! Johnson was three wide as they ran into turn 2. Johnson then lost it at the bottom.

Larson makes his way to the pit lane in order to fix fender damage.

Green, Harvick heads ahead at the bottom. Blaney swings to lead in the outside lanes. Blaney ends the draft on the back stretch.

Joey Logano is ahead by 4 seconds with 30 seconds to go. Ryan Blaney is leading Joey Logano.

Bubba Wallace, with 34 remaining, has moved up to 4th. Bowman and Suarez rub the fender before Suarez heads to pits.

Pit stops

33 more to go, Kevin Harvick is heading for the pit lane.

Larson can be left alone! Larson contacts the inside wall and warns him.

The field heads towards the pit lane. Harvick will stay out, and Harvick will take the lead.

Ryan Blaney gets the jump on Green, Harvick

Bowman is right behind them. Hamlin pinched him and he went around until he came to a halt against the inside wall. The caution is back.

Green, Harvick is clear just before turn 1. Blaney and Logano exchange fenders for second, Logano takes that place as Bubba Wallace moves up to third.

13 to go

Lap 147, Daniel Suarez slaps Matt Tifft to send him into a wall. The warning is out.

Logano gets a big push from Green and Bubba Wallace at the inside line. Harvick holds Logano off at the outside of turn 2.

Logano and Harvick swap side drafts down to the back stretch. Bubba Wallace is right behind them. Harvick is the leader on the outside through turn three.
