Dallas Cowboys vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Thursday, September 09, 2021 – 08:20 PM EDT at Raymond James Stadium

Tom Brady, reigning Super Bowl champ, and his squad will begin Week 1 of the 2021 season against Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys) on Thursday night. There has not been much change in the past. Tampa has 22 of its champions back this season to give them another chance at the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, in Dallas, it’s the return of Prescott whose season was cut short following a gruesome leg injury.

Brady openly admitted that he was playing last season with a torn medial collateral ligament. However, he still managed to complete 65.7 percent of his passes in 2020 for 4,633 yard, 40 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and 40 yards. He finished the season with a QB rating 102.2. After his offseason knee surgery, he should feel 100% again, which will mean a healthier, better TB12. The team’s running attack, which is led by Ronald Jones II as running back, is also outstanding. Jones led the team with 978 yard on 192 runs and seven touchdowns through 14 games in 2020. Their defensive line, who was instrumental in their win in the final eight games, is back.

Prior to Dak’s injury, he had looked promising and finished the year completing 151 of 222 passes (68 percent) for 1,856 yards and nine touchdowns. Returning alongside him is running back Ezekiel Elliott, who is among the NFL’s leading rushers––although, last season, he failed to reach 1,000 yards for the first time since 2017. I hope you enjoy. with Prescott back running the show, things will look better for Zeke and the rest of Dallas who haven’t seen a Super Bowl win in 25 years.

Tampa will cover until we see what Dallas can accomplish with a healthy Prescott.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Atlanta Falcons

Sunday, September 12, 2021 – 01:00 PM EDT at Mercedes Benz Stadium

The Philadelphia Eagles have a new head coach in Nick Sirianni this season, but that’s not the only thing that’s new for them as they’ll be without QB1 Carson Wentz for the first time since 2016. Instead, second-year gunslinger Jalenhurts will be the Eagles starter, with Joe Flacco (experienced) and Gardner Minshew (backups)..

And unlike last fall, Miles Sanders is once agains healthy and set to lead the backfield behind a healthy offensive line that features veteran group Jason Kelce, Brandon Brooks and Lane Johnson. Hurts have weapons they can target in wideouts Jalen Ragor, and DeVonta Smitty, the 2021 Heisman trophy winner. Along with their new head coach, the Eagles also have a new defensive coordinator in Jonathan Gannon who seems extra confident in their cornerbacks Darius Slay and Steven Nelson that should give Matt Ryan and the Falcons’ O-line a tough task.

Similar to Philly Atlanta was in need of a coach shake-up after a 0-5 start for 2020. But Arthur Smith, the new Falcons head coach is determined to make things right for them once and for all. Matt Ryan, his 14th season as quarterback, has not seen much change. His backups Josh Rosen (newcomer) and Felipe Franks (returning from injury) are still there. But it is the first year Ryan won’t have his partner in crime, Julio Jones, at hand to whom he credits much of his success. But he will be able to play with No. The fourth overall tight end is Kyle Pitts. All eyes will be on Pitts but he’s not the only weapon Ryan will have to work with.

Fouth-year wide receiver Calvin Ridley is destined for his best season yet and Russell Gage is ready to step up as the team’s No. 2 wideout. Smith was a backfield whisperer in Tennessee, but we’ll see if he can work his magic with veteran Mike Davis and a lackluster offensive line. And the Falcons defense should look better now that it’s run by two-time Super Bowl champ Dean Pees who is determined to rack up sacks.

Although the Falcons look promising heading into the season, they can’t seem to perform on the field. It’s hard to trust a team whose offensive line has a lot of question marks heading into Week 1 and you can’t expect Kyle Pitts to save the day as a one-man-band. If the Eagles can stay healthy then both their defensive and offensive line look a heck of a lot more promising than Atlanta’s. Although it could be a disappointing matchup in Week 1, Philly will keep it close.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Detroit Lions

Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 01:00 P.M. EDT at Ford Field

The 49ers are similar to the Bucs “are back”With their 2019 Super Bowl running team. Following a terrible 2020 season marred by COVID-19 injuries and unending injuries, San Fran has several key starters returning, including star tight end George Kittle, Jimmy Garoppolo, starting quarterback, and Nick Bosa and Dee Ford.

They made significant changes in Detroit and hired Dan Campbell, a first-year coach. They traded Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for Jared Goff, a former No. 1 overall draft pick. The Niners are familiar with Goff’s game from his time at the Rams so their defense will be able to anticipate what to expect. For Detroits’ rebuilding defense, however, they likely won’t know what to do with the Niners’ problematic trio of Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel and Kittle.

Nonetheless, the 49ers’ offense should have themselves a field day against a Lions’ defense that allowed 419.8 yards a game last season, They were ranked dead last in the NFL

Arizona Cardinals vs. Tennessee Titans

Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 01:00 P.M. EDT at Nissan Stadium

Although the Titans have a record 11-5 season, and are celebrating their first AFC South championship win since 2008, they failed to advance past the first round playoffs. In contrast, the inconsistent Arizona Cardinals had an 8-8 season and placed third in the NFC West.

This game will be more scoring with both sides using a variety of weapons.. Last season, the Titans averaged 30.7 yards per game. All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones joined an offense that already has Derrick Henry and wideout A.J. Brown and quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Tennessee’s defense will have just one member of the 2020 starting secondary return in outside linebacker Bud Dupree. However, the team did make some changes to the defense with the additions Denico autry (defensive lineman) and Janoris Jenkins (cornerback), and rookie corners Elijah Molden or Caleb Farley.

Arizona put up 25.6 points per contest last year. They will have most of the starters back for another season, with notable additions like Rodney Hudson at center and A.J. Green. The return of the quarterback is also a plus. Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hughes are both on the horizon for a record season.Their secondary defense is still a concern, but their front seven, which includes Chandler Jones and J.J. Watt, as well as linebackers Zaven Collins, and Isaiah Simmons, should be able hold down the fort.

Although this could be a tight matchup with high scoring points, Tannehill and Company look much better in Week 1 than Murray’s crew.

Miami Dolphins vs. New England Patriots

Sunday, September 12, 2021 – 04:25 PM EDT at Gillette Stadium

Tua Tagovailoa, a second-year quarterback, makes his debut in Week 1, after he spent most of the last season behind Ryan FitzpatrickHe is currently in Washington. Tua will have to prove he’s worth but will have the help of trustworthy playmakers in veteran addition Will Fuller along with DeVante Parker, Mack Holins and rookie star Jaylen Waddle.

Despite his struggles in his rookie season, Tagovailoa played nine games for Miami, posting a respectable rookie record at 6-3. He finished the year with 64 percent completions of his passes for 1,814 yard and 11 touchdowns along with 5 interceptions.

Miami’s defense is just as loaded as their offense with a terrifying group of corners staring Xavien Howard and Bryon Jones who should give Patriots rookie QB Mac a “warm”NFL welcomes.

After releasing Cam Newton in Week 1, New England has decided to put all its eggs in the rookie quarterback. Jones will feel less pressure with a talented backfield, led by Rhamondre Stephenson and Damien Harris. Not to mention the key additions of Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry and Nelson Agholor this offseason. Jones has a lot to do, but what about the defense? It’s notable to add that the Pats’ secondary will be without their star cornerback Stephon Gilmore, and for the next five games.

I’m trusting Miami’s defense and Tua’s second-year debut.

Green Bay Packers vs. New Orleans Saints

Sunday, September 12, 2021 – 04:25 EDT at TIAA Bank Field

The Green Bay Packers were in a bit of a bind this offseason, but they now know that Aaron Rodgers will start at least one more season. The Saints will have many questions as Drew Brees is currently enjoying retirement and they won’t be able to replace him.

This matchup is obvious: The Packers are the superior team because they have talent at key positions. In top target Devante AdamsAlong with the Pro Bowl running back Aaron JonesAn extremely strong offensive line even without David Bakhtiari.

It’s a true wild card for New Orleans who is starting interception king Jameis Winston and will be without star wideout Michael Thomas in the lineup leaving it up to the WR depth. While they’ll have Alvin Kamara, he can’t single-handily win for the Saints. It’s also an advantage for Green Bay Packers who won’t have to play in the Superdome, “thanks”Hurricane Ida. Instead, the game will take place at a neutral location in Jacksonville.
