It is Week 2 and here we are again as Last Chance Value Picks continues to focus on the NCAAF line moves that will give us the most value for our betting buck. Let’s fade the steam and keep cashing our college football picks!

Tulsa Golden Hurricane vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys

Saturday, September 11, 2021 – 12:00 PM ET at Boone Pickens Stadium

Every week is different regarding the college football odds, sometimes we see big disparities from the openers to the near closers while in other weeks the numbers are tighter than a size small Speedo on Tony Siragusa. This week it is the latter and the picture isn’t pretty, with all due respect to Mr. Siragusa.

But that doesn’t mean value is not there, it simply means it’s not as great as in other weeks. The matchup between Oklahoma State and Tulsa shows that the number has changed from Okie State-12 down to -13 at the vast majority online sportsbooks.

Knowing that certain numbers are more crucial than others, this change to a semi-critical 13, allows us to bet Tulsa with a touchdown, and now has a two field goal advantage. The Golden Hurricane were stunned in their season opener, 19-17, by UC Davis but that upset is driving this number in favor of the Cowboys. But let’s not forget that Oklahoma State didn’t exactly drape themselves in glory with their pedestrian, 23-16, victory over FCS entry, Missouri State, as 33-point home chalk.

Let’s grab what the oddsmakers are giving us and cash a ticket with the road pup here.

UNLV Rebels vs. Arizona State Sun Devils

Saturday, September 11, 2021 – 10:30 PM ET at Sun Devil Stadium

In this meeting, we are getting a full two points from the opener to the near-closer, and not only that, but it spiked from 32.5 to 34.5 which means we are now north of four touchdowns and two full field goals with UNLV.

Numbers that are combinations of three’s and seven’s can be crucial and anytime you can get over that hump, even by half a point as is the case here, can be the difference between a push and a cover. Let’s grab the points with the Rebels and watch them hang just tough enough with the Sun Devils to get the money.

Stanford Cardinal vs. USC Trojans

Saturday, September 11, 2021 – 10:30 PM ET at LA Memorial Coliseum

USC is ranked 14th in the nation after a convincing, 30-13, win over San Jose State last week and easily covering the 13.5 point impost. After a tough 24-7 road defeat to Kansas State, they will meet their Pac-12 counterparts from Stanford this week.

This game’s line has dropped a full point from USC-18 to -17. Again, this number can be crucial as it combines two touchdowns with one field goal. Those who have been around the betting block more than once understand the importance of these numbers and what a big difference they can make.

We like the Trojans here for a couple of reasons, notwithstanding the favorable late number we are getting to back them. USC revealed a balanced attack last week in their victory over the Spartans with a solid passing performance by Kedon Slovis, who tossed for 256 yards and a pair of touchdowns with no picks. And on the ground, Keaontay Ingram and Vavae Malepeai platooned out of the backfield and picked up the lion’s share of the Trojans’ 160 rushing yards.

I’m not sure that the Cardinal defense is any better than that of the Spartans, which is why I believe USC will get at least 30 plus points. Add to that, I’m not sure Stanford has the offensive capability to get more than a few touchdowns on what appears to be a stout USC defense. If the books want to give us a reason to bet the home chalk here then we’ll take full advantage of their generosity.
